1. Who we are

This privacy policy applies to Zachariah Salmi (Credit Representative No. 569891), trading as Zach Salmi Finance, who operates under Latem Finance Pty Ltd (ACN 683 687 772, Credit Representative No. 566104). Zachariah Salmi and Latem Finance Pty Ltd are both authorised credit representatives of AFAS Group Pty Ltd (Australian Credit Licence No. 414426).

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" means Zach Salmi Finance. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and, where it applies, Part IIIA of the Privacy Act and the Credit Reporting Privacy Code.

2. What we collect

To help you find and apply for finance, we may collect:

• Your name, date of birth, contact details and address history
• Identification documents, such as your driver licence
• Employment, income, assets, expenses and liabilities
• Business details, such as your ABN, trading history, BAS and financial statements
• Credit information, including your credit history and credit reports
• Details of the vehicle, equipment or other asset you want to finance
• Records of our conversations, emails and messages with you

3. How we collect it

We usually collect information directly from you, for example when you fill in a quote form on our website, respond to one of our ads, call, text or email us, or send us documents.

With your consent, we may also collect information from third parties, such as credit reporting bodies, lenders, your accountant, your employer or the dealer you are buying from.

4. Why we collect it

We collect and use your information to:

• Understand your situation and what you need
• Assess which lenders and products may suit you, as required by responsible lending laws
• Prepare and lodge finance applications on your behalf
• Verify your identity and meet our legal obligations
• Keep in touch about your application and, if you agree, about other products that may help you

5. Who we share it with

We only share your information where it is needed to help you, or where the law requires it. This may include:

• Lenders and finance providers we submit applications to
• Credit reporting bodies, such as Equifax, Illion and Experian
• Our licensee AFAS Group Pty Ltd and Latem Finance Pty Ltd, for compliance and supervision
• Valuers, insurers, dealers and other parties involved in your purchase
• Service providers who help us run our business, such as our CRM, email and document storage providers
• Government agencies and regulators, where we are required by law

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, such as our customer relationship management and email software, may store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers protect your information in line with Australian privacy law.

7. Credit information

With your consent, we or a lender may obtain your credit report from a credit reporting body to assess your application. Lenders may also share information about your application and repayments with credit reporting bodies.

You can ask a credit reporting body not to use your credit information for direct marketing pre-screening, and you can request a ban period if you believe you are a victim of fraud.

8. Our website, cookies and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar tools, including the Meta Pixel, to understand how people use the site and to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. These tools may collect information such as your device, browser, pages visited and actions taken, like submitting a quote form.

You can control cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram account settings.

9. Marketing

If you agree, we may contact you with information about finance that may suit you. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or by telling us directly.

10. Keeping your information secure

We store your information securely, using access controls and reputable cloud providers. We keep it only for as long as we need it for our business or to meet legal requirements, then destroy or de-identify it.

11. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. In limited cases the law allows us to refuse access, and we will explain why.

12. Making a complaint

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it.
